ADMIRAL CHURCH ORGAN
Admiral Church’s pipe organ has been a beloved part of music at Admiral for 60 years. The organ has twenty one ranks of pipes from Balcom and Vaughan Organ Builders and a four-manual Rodgers electronic console, which is “married” to the pipes and additionally can play hundreds of sampled electronic voices as well. This gives Admiral's marvelous organist Sam Peters a huge palette from which to choose for playing hymns, classical works and his own compositions.
ADMIRAL CHOIR
The members of our small but mighty choir are devoted to being “music ministers” for our congregation, uplifting spirits and singing in alignment with Pastor Andrew’s messages each Sunday. The Admiral Choir is conducted from the piano by our very talented Director of Music Ministry, Sam Peters.
We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 pm and sing for weekly worship services every Sunday morning at 10:30 from September through June. We have FUN while developing our choral skills, learning new music and singing together, as we deepen our friendships and mutual support for each other. We welcome new Choir members with open arms and hearts!
Our repertoire includes a wide range of inspirational music from contemporary songs and new compositions to African-American spirituals, from classic anthems to chants (as those from the Taize tradition), from world music to favorite hymns. We also sometimes play hand chimes and a variety of percussion instruments. Music reading ability is not required (although you'll learn along the way), and singers of all skill levels will find a “fit” with the Admiral Choir.
Drop in on a Wednesday or Sunday and check us out! We can't wait to meet you!
