Advent Journey

This Advent, we are joining countless communities across the country in using resources from A Sanctified Art, a collective of artists, theologians, and ministers who weave together creativity and spiritual depth.

Their work invites us to slow down, to pay attention, and to experience scripture through color, poetry, movement, and imagination. Each week, their visuals and reflections will guide us into the heart of the season

—hope, peace, joy, and love—

not as abstract ideas, but as lived practices that take root in our daily lives.

We’ll be using their liturgy, art, and devotional materials to help us listen for God’s presence in new ways, and to prepare room within ourselves for the Light that is always arriving...

This fall, we used Luke’s Gospel to delve into some essentials of discipleship:
Surrender, Testimony, and Evangelism.

 November: Evangelism

What if evangelism is not about  converting and convincing, but about authentic connection, a sharing that overflows from genuine relationships which transform and heal? This month we will explore how the sharing of our stories can become an invitation: to listen deeply; to live with compassion; and to be followers of the Way of Jesus. We’ll  tell stories about how our church community is a  vibrant center for shared purpose -- caring for one other and the world around us -- a refuge for soul prosperity and belonging that we love to share.

 October: Refining Our Testimony

Surrendering control is scary, and it requires trust in the Loving God we meet in Jesus.

Testimony is the process of telling our stories of encounter, healing, empowerment, bravery, risk, and transformation, giving credit where credit is due. Seeing the Divine within these stories gives us confidence and courage as we face the next obstacle to our freedom and joy.

September: Concentrating on letting go of control so we can meet the Wayfinder God, the One who helps us plot courses from a vantage point far above the tumult of the seas we are sailing through.

Sunday, September 7th was unfortunately not recorded.
